Ana Ricchiardi is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Architecture, University of Cyprus, under the YUFE4Postdocs programme. Trained as an architect, she holds a PhD from Politecnico di Torino. Her research focuses on the intersections between migration, urban space, and socio-spatial justice.

She is currently leading the project “Making Space: Migration and Socio-Spatial Relations in Cyprus” (2024–2027), which examines how asylum and reception systems are spatially produced through physical and social infrastructures. Her work draws on ethnographic methods, spatial analysis, and participatory approaches to investigate how policies, built environments, and everyday practices shape migrant experiences and urban dynamics. Her broader research interests include borderscapes, spatial governance, informal urbanism, and the role of space in mediating power relations and agency. She has conducted research and teaching activities across Cyprus, Italy, and Ecuador.
