Michalis Psaras

Michalis L. Psaras holds an MSc in Architecture, Urbanism, and Building Sciences (2022), from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), where he studied as an A.G. Leventis fellow, graduating with distinction. He was the valedictorian of the Polytechnic School (2019) at the University of Cyprus where he obtained a Diploma of Architect-Engineer (2020) and a BSc in Architecture (2019), both with distinction. Throughout his academic journey, he has received numerous scholarships and awards, including the Cyprus Architects Association (CAA) award for graduating top of his class in the Department of Architecture, UCY, and the Lambros and Thalia David Award for the Best Diploma Thesis (2020). Before commencing his academic career, he garnered various prizes and awards, among which the prestigious Crest of the House of Representatives for getting admission at the age of 15 to the School of Visual and Applied Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as a ’talent’ with ‘’special artistic inclination’’. Since 2019, Michalis has been a research associate at the University of Cyprus contributing to the work of SURF and Mesarch research laboratories in the fields of evidence-based design and planning (EBDP), sustainable urban governance, and history and theory of Modern architecture in the Eastern Mediterranean. Michalis has practiced architecture in offices in Athens (GR), Larnaca, and Nicosia (CY) on a range of design projects and is currently an active architect based in Larnaca (CY)
