Andreas Panagidis

Andreas Panagidis is an architect and planner, with an MA in Architecture from the Royal Danish Academy and an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Amsterdam. During his professional practice as an architect both in Cyprus, the UK and the US, Andreas has gained experience primarily involved in residential projects of various scales and sectors. He has also been working as a research assistant at the Department of Architecture at The University of Cyprus, involved in an affordable housing urban planning project in Kokkinotrimithia in partnership with the CLDC (ΚΟΑΓ). Andreas is currently undertaking his PhD research in planning experimentation regarding affordable housing and neighbourhood development within the Mari-Curie funded programme “Re-Dwell: Delivering Affordable and Sustainable Housing in Europe”. More specifically, this PhD research explores participatory practices through the methodology of Urban Living Labs, processes of knowledge co-production and local governance at the community level from the context of southern Europe. His personal research interests transcend disciplinary boundaries between architecture, planning and geography with a main focus the interrelated concepts of community and the commons.
