Dr. Andreas Papallas

Andreas Papallas is a trained architect, researcher and educator with a focus on sustainable urban development. He is currently pursuing a doctorate at the University of Oxford and holds appointments as a special scientist at the Cyprus University of Technology and the University of Cyprus. Andreas holds an MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Architecture from the University of Sheffield.  His research focuses on multicultural adaptation spatial practices in Nicosia, Cyprus, and how these impact perceptions of spatial justice and belonging among migrants and locals. In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Andreas is deeply passionate about co-creative design and social change, and has led workshops on these topics at conferences in Vancouver and Las Vegas. In his architectural practice, Andreas serves as an Associate Director, overseeing the feasibility, concept, and design team for a variety of projects. He is known for his expertise in scoping and feasibility studies and his commitment to promoting social change through design. As such he has been a consultant to the National Technical Chamber on a number of occasions regarding the improvement of the architecture and planning industry. He has contributed to a number of initiatives over the course of his professional practice and academic life including a six year service as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Architects Association.
