Dr. Christina Panayi  

Christina Panayi is a Special Scientist at the Department of Architecture at University of Cyprus, where she is currently working on the Erasmus+ project Knowledge Alliance for Evidence-Based Urban Practices (KAEBUP) and co-teaching the second year Architectural Design Studio as an adjunct faculty member.  She is a PhD candidate with a B.Sc. in Architecture and an Architect-Engineer Diploma from the University of Cyprus.  She is a member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK) and has worked as an Architect in Cyprus. Bridging across academia, society and practice, her research focuses on investigating a transdisciplinary approach to the architectural design studio as a space for addressing issues of urban social sustainability through a co-creation framework. Her research interests relate to co-governance, urban commons, urban experimentation and community engagement, as well as the role of higher education in effectively forming future architects and urban planners.
