Ana Ricchiardi is an architect, researcher and educator with a specific interest on Urban Morphological Studies. She has carried out professional, academic, teaching and training activities in Ecuador and Italy. Ricchiardi’s most recent research investigated morphological characters of informal settlements. She is currently a Special Scientist for Research in the project TWIN2EXPAND.

After completing undergraduate studies in Architecture in Quito, she completed a Master’s degree in the program Architecture, Construction and City at Politecnico di Torino, where she was awarded a PhD at the Department of Architecture and Design for a doctoral dissertation focusing on the Mapping of Transitional Urban Forms in the context of the Global South.
